Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the AskPip Chrome extension, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use AskPip.

Description of Service

AskPip is a Chrome extension that provides an AI tutor and study assistant for students using Canvas. AskPip answers questions about your courses and assignments and helps you understand, draft, and edit your work. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate and may not reflect how your instructor will actually evaluate your work.

AskPip is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Instructure or Canvas LMS.

Subscription & Billing

  • AskPip offers a free tier with limited monthly usage. Paid plans unlock additional usage.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or multi-month). You may cancel at any time.
  • All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
  • Paid plans include a monthly AI usage cap. Usage beyond the cap may result in temporary throttling until the next month.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to request one.

Academic Integrity - Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of AskPip complies with your institution's academic integrity policy, honor code, and any course-specific guidelines set by your instructor. AskPip makes no representation that its use is permitted by your institution or instructor. Before using AskPip in connection with any graded academic work, you must verify that doing so is allowed.

AskPip is designed as a learning and study tool. Use of AskPip to gain an unauthorized academic advantage is a misuse of this service.

AskPip is not liable for any academic, disciplinary, or legal consequences arising from your use of this service, including, but not limited to, grade penalties, academic integrity violations, suspension, or expulsion.

User Representations

By using AskPip, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 13 years of age. AskPip is not directed to children under 13.
  • If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
  • You are the author of, or have the legal right to submit, all content you provide to AskPip.
  • Your use of AskPip complies with all applicable laws and your institution's policies.
  • Submitting your content to AskPip does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, including your institution or instructor.

User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Do not share your account credentials with others.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of AskPip complies with your institution's academic integrity and AI use policies.
  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute AskPip.

AI Processing & Third-Party Providers

AskPip transmits submitted content to a third-party AI provider (Fireworks AI) via API to generate responses. This provider processes your content solely to return a response and does not use API inputs to train its AI models, consistent with its API terms of service.

You are responsible for evaluating whether this processing is consistent with your institution's data governance and privacy policies before using AskPip.

Intellectual Property

AskPip and its underlying technology are owned by us. You retain ownership of any content you submit. Responses generated by AskPip are provided for your personal use and are not claimed by us.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AskPip and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of AskPip in violation of these Terms or applicable law; (b) content you submitted that you did not have the right to submit; or (c) any claims by your institution, instructors, or third parties relating to your use of AskPip.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your subscription will not renew.

Limitation of Liability

AskPip is provided "as is." We make no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-generated responses, and they may not reflect your instructor's actual grading. We are not liable for any errors, data loss, or damages arising from your use of AskPip.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Idaho in the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of AskPip after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
